VOLUNTEER

Young Marine units are community-based programs lead by dedicated adult volunteers. Carroll County Young Marines would not be what we are without the strong dedication and committment of our YM Adult Staff and parent volunteers. Many of these volunteers are former, retired, active duty, or reserve Marines who believe passionately that the values they learned as Marines had a positive affect on them. It is through these caring adults that Young Marines learn the inner values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.

We are always looking for new "talent" in the community to help us out. If you love kids and believe in the potential of our local youth, we would love to have you. It doesn't have to be every week, we can always use help with a class for 30-45 minutes on one night. Past one night classes have been on Map and Compass, gun safety, proper care of uniforms, knot tying knots, communications, Marine Corps history. If you think your information could be incorporated into a class or coordiniated with other information, please get in touch with us! We are especially looking for individuals who love camping and may have some unique interests such as rock climbing!

Anything that involves one-on-one with the Young Marines or involves an overnight stay requires that the adult becomes registered adult. If interested, please contact Mr. Ralph Dornon at jarhead39@comcast.net or Lucy Ambs at lucy_ambs@hotmail.com
